I made a record recently. It's called Bo. It's been recorded (twice), mixed, and mastered, and it will be out soon.

I used to think there was something self-indulgent and embarrassing about writing songs, but I don't anymore.

When I got the call that it was time to return to my parents's house to say goodbye to my dad, I booked my flight, and I wrote a song. Through hospital visits, hospice, a funeral, shiva, and the grief of returning to something that resembled regular life but felt irreparably different, I wrote this collection of songs. It was the best way I knew to process my grief and make sense of the world.

So this record is means a lot to me. Making it helped me heal. From loss, of course. And also from the inane idea that making art isn't essential to being human.
